Accessibility Statement
Effective July 21, 2026
Pelagos builds tools for the people who manage public resources, and a public website should be usable by all of them. This site is designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
Measures we take
- Semantic HTML with proper landmarks, headings, and a skip-to-content link.
- Full keyboard operability, including the navigation dropdowns and the team profile dialogs, with visible focus indicators throughout.
- Text contrast meeting WCAG AA everywhere, including text over photography, which sits above a dark overlay tuned for contrast.
- Respect for reduced-motion preferences: animations and the background video are disabled when your system requests reduced motion.
- A visible pause control on the home page's background video, and a static image in place of video on small screens.
- Alternative text on meaningful images, with decorative media marked accordingly.
- Resizable text and responsive layouts that reflow without loss of content.
How we check
We test with automated tooling (including Lighthouse accessibility audits) and manual keyboard review as the site changes. This statement is updated when the site's accessibility posture changes.
Known limitations
Some photography is ambient and decorative by design. If any content is difficult for you to access, we want to know.
